Patna: Political temperature heats up in Bihar as Tej Pratap in a tweet compared his brother Tejashwi Yadav to mythological character ‘Duryodhana’.

His tweet against Tejashwi Yadav comes as a major embarrassment for the party ahead of Lok Sabha elections. Earlier on several occasions, he had called his brother “Arjun” and had promised to support him like Krishna in his political career.

Sources claim that Tej Pratap Yadav wanted the RJD to field candidates of his choice from Sheohar and Jehanabad seats but his demands were turned down by his brother Tejashwi Yadav.

In a late night development on Saturday RJD named Syed Faisal Ali as its candidate from Sheohar Lok Sabha seat.

According to RJD insiders, “There is a reason for him to get angry. Without consulting him the party fielded his estranged fat-her in law from Saran se-at. His demands for She-ohar and Jehanabad seats were also turned down by his brother and few top leaders of the party”.

Trouble between the two brothers has been brewing ever since Lalu Yadav handed over the reins of the party to his younger son Tejashwi Yadav after he was convicted and sent to jail in the fodder scam case.

A week earlier he had floated a separate political front ‘Lalu – Rabri Morcha’ and had announced to support independents candidates on 20 LS seats in Bihar.

Sources said that fresh speculation of a rift between Tej Pratap and other leaders including his brother Tejashwi Yadav has confused party workers.

His statement also gave fuel to NDA leaders in Bihar who said that the rift within Lalu Yadav’s family will create a conflict in the party as well as in the grand alliance.

This is not his first controversial tweet. Last year he created a buzz with a tweet signalling his retirement from politics. In a social media post, he had used references from Mahabharata and said that he wishes to hand over the throne to Arjun (Tejashwi Yadav) and leave for Dwarika.
