Delhi: Ex-cop, now a lawyer, faces threat from colleagues
The agitated lawyers are now demaning him to clarify his stand that for which fraternity he stands for.
New Delhi: A 65-year-old lawyer, who is practising in the national capital, is now facing the wrath of his own fraternity due to his glorious past as an encounter specialist in the Delhi Police is now haunting him due to the ongoing clash between lawyers and the police.
The agitated lawyers are now demaning him to clarify his stand that for which fraternity he stands for.
Banners stating, “Please clarify. You are an advocate or retired police officer”, were pasted on the 136 number chambers at Patiala House court of the former deputy commissioner of police of special cell Lakshmi Narayan Rao.
Mr Rao, an alumni of Delhi University law faculty, saw several posters, asking him whether he is an advocate or retired police official, pasted on the chamber of the entrance gate.
“I have clarified what I am! I retired from the Delhi Police in 2014 after serving for more than 30 years and now practising law. I was shocked to see posters on my chamber and the reason behind is that I had condemned the attack on police personnel in the Saket court premises,” Mr Rao told The Asian Age.
