Muzaffarpur shelter home: None of the 35 inmates murdered, CBI tells SC
The attorney-general told the court that the children, who were alleged to have been murdered were later traced and are alive.
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that none of the 35 inmates of Muzafarpur horror home in Bihar were murdered and all the inmates have been traced and are alive.
Attorney-General K. K.Venugopal said this to a top court bench headed by the Chief Justice S.A.Bobde as he submitted the status report by the investigating agency on its probe into Muzafarpur and 16 other shelter homes in Bihar.
The attorney-general told the court that the children, who were alleged to have been murdered were later traced and are alive.
There were allegations that some of the inmate children wer murdered after they were sexually abused.
The CBI in its report told the court that two skeletons that were recovered, on forensic investigation, were found to be that of a nam and woman.
While accepting the status report from the investigating agency, the court gave its nod for the relieving of two CBI officers who were associated with the Special Investigating Team so that they can proceed to their further postings.
The court was informed that the investigation into the allegation of rape and sexual assault of the children of shelter has been completed and charge-sheets have been filed before concerned court.
The Muzafarpur horror home case where shelter home inmates were sexually abused and kept in a isolated rooms had rocked the nation.
The top court was informed today that probe agency investigated cases of 17 shelter homes and charge-sheets have been filed in 13 of them,
In the remaining four shelter homes, the cases were closed as no evidence was found.
