Bhopal: Leaving nothing to chance, Congress, in a desperate bid to wrest power from BJP in Madhya Pradesh in the year-end assembly elections, has hired at least three independent agencies to recommend candidates with winning prospects to be fielded in the polls.

While two agencies are roped in by the party, a national agency which has rich experience of working for frontline political parties in the country has been hired by the MP Pradesh Congress Committee president Kamal Nath “personally” for the purpose, a senior Congress leader told this newspaper on Sunday.

“All the three agencies have started functioning at the ground level to spot the candidates with winning prospects in each of the 230 assembly constituencies in MP. Separate parameters have been fixed for the three agencies to scrutinise such candidates”, the Congress leader revealed on condition of anonymity.
