Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar charged with rape of Unnao teen
The court had passed order on charges under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
New Delhi: Delhi's Tis Hazari Court on Friday charged expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar with the rape of the minor girl in Unnao.
The court has framed charges under criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, kidnapping or inducing a woman to compel for marriage, rape and other relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
District Judge Dharmesh Sharma also framed charges against Sengar's accomplice Shashi Singh for allegedly kidnapping the minor girl, who is presently admitted in AIIMS, Delhi.
The CBI had on Thursday told the court that Sengar and his brother assaulted the father of the girl and framed him in an Arms Act case, in collusion with three state police officials and five others.

Last week, the Supreme Court had transferred related cases against Sengar to Delhi at the request of the rape survivor’s family.

The rape survivor is struggling for life at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a car crash.

Last month, rape survivor along with her family was travelling to Rae Bareli when her car had a head-on collision with a truck. The rape survivor and her lawyer are critical, while her two aunts died in the crash.
Earlier this month, the Bharatiya Janata Party had expelled the four-time legislator from Bangarmau in Unnao district.

He was suspended from the party in 2018 when the charges against him first attracted nationwide attention when the rape survivor’s father was killed.
