BJP's KL Chisi richest Naga candidate in poll fray

Chisi immovable assets are worth Rs 17.91 crore at present value, of which the assets worth Rs 3.06 cr have been inherited and the rest self-acquired.

Guwahati: Former Congress leader K. L. Chisi contesting this election on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket for the ensuing Nagaland assembly polls, has emerged as the richest candidate with assets of more than Rs 37 crore, followed by three-time chief minister Neiphu Rio, who has declared his property worth Rs 27.91 crore.

Mr Chisi’s movable assets are over Rs 10 crore, which includes two of his prized possessions— a Land Cruiser Prado worth over Rs 64 lakh and a BMW Mini F 56 Cooper worth over Rs 35.5 lakh. His immovable assets are worth Rs 17.91 crore at present value, of which the assets worth Rs 3.06 crore have been inherited and the rest self-acquired.

The 67-year-old Mr Rio in his affidavit has listed his salary and allowance as an MP, income from rent, agriculture and interest from deposits as the sources of income.
