New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency has arrested an accused who was absconding in connection with investigations into the Kannur terror module case of 2013. The accused, Azharudheen alias Azhar, was arrested on Monday and is a resident of Kerala’s Kannur district.

The case was initially investigated by the state police which had arrested as many as 24 persons, who apparently belonged to the Popular Front of India and the Social Democratic Party of India, for organising a terror training camp in Kannur in 2013, the NIA claimed.

Investigations into the case revealed that the accused persons had hatched a criminal conspiracy to give training to youth from different parts of the state in making IEDs and handling weapons.
