Man arrested with grenades outside Poonch Army camp

The officials claimed that one C-90 grenade, one UBGL grenade and detonators were recovered from the accused.

SRINAGAR: A man was held with grenades at an Army recruitment rally in Surankote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s frontier Poonch district on Monday, officials said.

They said that at round 10.40 am, one Rajinder Singh, son of Krishnan Singh and resident of Kalakote area of neighbouring Rajouri district, was arrested by a joint team of J&K police and 156 Territorial Army at the main entrance to the Army town of Surankote. The officials claimed that one C-90 grenade, one UBGL grenade and detonators were recovered from the accused.

Later he was handed over to police station Surankote. A case has been registered and further investigations have been taken up, a local police officer said.
