CM Yogi meets families of kids who died in UP dog attacks

The chief minister also met the families of those children who had died in canine attacks.

Lucknow: UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, visited Sitapur where 14 children had been mauled to death by stray dogs.

The chief minister met the children, who were injured in the dog attack, in the Sitapur district hospital and asked the doctors to ensure proper treatment,

The chief minister also met the families of those children who had died in canine attacks. He announced a compensation of Rs two lakh each for the families of the deceased children and Rs 25,000 for those injured in dog attacks.

He also ordered officials to take immediate steps to control the menace.

“I have asked officials to round up stray dogs and ensure a free and safe environment for children”, he told reporters.

A large number of children in the affected villages  have stopped venturing out of their homes and have even stopped going to school.
