Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath has allotted a bungalow at 6, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg to Samajwadi Secular Morcha founder Shivpal Yadav as MLA.

The bungalow was previously occupied by BSP president Ms Mayawati who had got it allotted in her name as former chief minister. This was one of the two such bungalows she occupied and vacated in June this year after the Supreme Court ordered that all bungalows given to former chief ministers should be vacated.

The other bungalow vacated by Ms Mayawati  was named as Kanshi Ram Vishram Sthal. It has not yet been allotted since the government is undecided on its memorial status.

The allotment of the bungalow to Mr Yadav is a clear indication of changing political equations in UP politics.

Mr Yadav, on Friday, inspected the bungalow and accepted the allotment. “The threat to me and my family has increased after I formed a new party. I had written to the government in this regard,” he said.
