Imphal (Manipur): Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla on Tuesday asserted that after working for 37 years in Parliament, she is pained by the allegations that have been made against her by Congress.
"In my 37 years in Parliament and when I was in Congress or worked with non-Congress government, I never had such allegations been put on me. I invite the BJP-led group on Wednesday to form the government. The ceremony will begin at 1 pm," said Heptulla.
Heptulla also explained why she didn't call the Congress Party to form the government.
"I know Congress is still largest party, it's not incumbent. It's the responsibility of Governor vested by the Constitution to weigh and measure stability. Ruling of Supreme Court says responsibility of Governor is to see who has majority and will work for state's stability," she added.
