Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday took strong exception to “wrong portrayal” of historical events by some sections in the society, saying “distortion of history amounts to treason”.

Mr Yogi was fielding a question from reporters in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where he was currently on a day’s tour, regarding the controversy over yet-to-be released Bollywood movie Padmavati.

He said historical facts should be projected rightly by media so that the future generation would judge the past events in right perspective.
