New Delhi: Adhering to the Sangh Parivar’s strategy of “catching them young”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday had a wide-ranging interaction with school and college students at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium over exam stress, career, yoga and politics. With just few days left for the class 10 and class 12 board examinations to begin, the Prime Minister conducted an interactive session “Pariksha pe charcha” with 2,300 students and teachers where he also took questions from students via social media and videoconferencing.

“Today I am a student and you are my examiner. You can give me marks out of 10 later. Don’t think of me as the Prime Minister but as a friend,” Mr Modi said, responding to questions from students who had gathered at the stadium as well as those who wrote in their queries and doubts.

One student asked him if he was prepared for his own board exam, i.e. the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Impressed with the question, Mr Modi advised the student to try and take up a career in journalism and said, “We have exams 24 hours. A small municipal election will be taking place in a far corner of India and ‘Breaking News: Blow for Modi’, the headlines will say.”

Mr Modi said he was confident of passing his “exam next year”. “I have the wishes of 125 crore Indians with me.”

The PMO had received thousands of questions  from students, ranging from stress and parental pressure to yoga and how to deal with competition.

Answering a question on how to handle stress of exams, Mr Modi said, “We all prepare honestly, but if we don’t have confidence, we tend to forget things at the last minute. Self-confidence comes by challenging ourselves and working hard. We should always think of bettering ourselves.” “People think concentration is a major thing that has to be learnt. But that is not true. Everyone throughout the day does something which requires complete concentration,” he said, interacting with around 2,300 students and teachers.

Mr Modi took questions from students present at the event and those who asked him questions through various news channels, the Narendra Modi Mobile App, and the MyGov platform.
