New Delhi: The subject committee of the Congress plenary session that included Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Friday decided to bring four specific resolutions for the AICC plenary session starting on Saturday. These include the political resolution, agriculture employment and poverty alleviation resolution, foreign affairs resolution and economic resolution. Tapping into the rural distress and unemployment the Congress is all set to tear into the Modi government The political resolution, among several other issues, will talk about alliances to take on the BJP. The Congress has already reached out to 17 political parties with the UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi hosting a dinner them. The political resolution will also highlight failures of the Modi government and the ways in which the present government has repackaged schemes of the UPA but with little on ground delivery. It is also expected to have imprints of ways in which the present government is targeting constitutional authorities. The recent impasse over appointment of judges to the apex court is also expected to figure in the resolution. However a final call on representation of youth and women in the Congress organization is expected to be taken during the session.

While the agriculture and employment resolution will address problems being faced by the youth and farmers. The Congress will try and pin down the BJP on its promise of doubling farmers income and the implementation of the Swaminathan Committee recommendations. The rising rural distress and unemployment amongst the youth is one of the planks the Congress wants to take to the Lok Sabha elections slated next year. The party led by its President Mr. Rahul Gandhi has held several Yatras in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan where farmers are under stress. Interestingly the Congress also put its weight behind farmers who recently marched from Nasik to Mumbai.
