Raman Singh bats for death to rapists of minors

Bhopal: Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh was in strong favour of giving capital punishment to rapists of girls aged below 12 years of age.

Talking the local media, Mr Singh said death penalty for the rapists of minors would serve as a strong deterrent to save the girl children from the perverted sex predators. “I am strongly in favour of awarding death sentence to the rapists of girls aged below 12 years of age,” he said.

In a related development, the Chhattisgarh state women’s commission recommended the state to amend law to make provision of capital punishment to the rapists of minor girls.
