J.K. Srivastava has been appointed as the new managing director of the corporation.
Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government has removed Rajan Mittal from the post of the managing director of UP State Bridge Corporation for his alleged negligence of duty that led to the collapse of the Varanasi flyover on May 15.
J.K. Srivastava has been appointed as the new managing director of the corporation. This information was given by deputy chief minister Keshav Maurya, who also holds the PWD portfolio, in a tweet.
However, the government did not clarify whether Mr Mittal was also being removed from the post of head of UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam. He held dual charge of the two corporations.
It is said that action was taken against Mr Mittal after the three-member committee submitted its report to chief minister on Thursday evening.
