After BJP VP nominee Venkaiah quits, Smriti Irani gets extra charge of I&B
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday named Naidu as NDA's vice presidential candidate.

New Delhi: Textile Minister Smriti Irani and Minister of Mines Narendra Tomar were on Tuesday given additional charge of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Ministry of Urban Development, respectively, after NDA's vice presidential candidate Venkaiah Naidu resigned as Cabinet minister.
The Prime Minister’s Office made the announcement on Twitter.
The BJP on Monday named Naidu as NDA's vice presidential candidate. Naidu was the Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information and Broadcasting in the Modi administration.
Naidu will file his nomination paper on Tuesday.
