Bihar: 4 held for 'rape' of shelter home ex-inmate

The girl was rescued from the Muzaffarpur shelter home where around 44 girls were sexually assaulted by officials and employees of the facility.

Patna: All the four accused involved in the alleged gang rape of former inmate of Muzaffarpur shelter home have been arrested. The victim was abducted and gang-raped by four youths in a moving car on Friday, the police said. According to ADG headquarter Jitendra Kumar, “Strict action will be taken against all the accused”. The police had registered an FIR in connection with the case on the basis of the victim’s statement a day after the incident had occurred. According to the FIR, the victim who is an eighteen-year-old girl was abducted and gang-raped by four youths while she was going to meet her relative on Friday evening. The men later dumped the girl in her locality and threatened her not to file a case against them. “Their faces were covered but I managed to remove masks from two of the accused. Then the others also removed their covers. Two of them were brothers while the rest were their friends. They later warned me not to report the matter to the police”, the girl mentioned in the FIR. The girl was rescued from the Muzaffarpur shelter home where around 44 girls were sexually assaulted by officials and employees of the facility.
