BSP leader shot dead in Amroha district

Lucknow: A Bahujan Samaj Party leader in Amroha district was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Thursday morning.
The incident took place in his home in Togaria Bhud area in Amroha district.
The victim, Kailash Thekedar, 40, used to live alone and his dead body was found on his bed in his room by his servant who later informed the police.
ASP Narendra Pratap Singh said, “The servant found that he was lying on his bed with a bullet wound. It seems he was shot in his sleep. We have called for the forensic team to investigate the matter”.
Reports reveal that BSP leader’s pistol was lying next to his body, while he had received a bullet shot from another pistol. A bullet of 315 bore has been found embedded in the pillow kept under Thekedar’s head.
The police has booked Thekedar’s brother, ex-wife and a girlfriend under suspicion. Kailash Thekedar, before joining the BSP, had contested for Nagar panch-ayat polls from the SP.
Further investigations into the matter are underway and the body has been sent for post mortem.
