India confirms incident' in Ladakh

The MEA refused to confirm reports that there was a scuffle between troops of the two sides along with stone-pelting.

New Delhi: India has officially “confirmed” the occurrence of the “incident” at the Pangong-Tso lake in Ladakh, eastern J&K, on August 15 between Indian and Chinese troops, with the ministry of external affairs (MEA) saying “such incidents are not in the interest of either side”. The MEA refused to “confirm” reports that there was a scuffle between troops of the two sides along with stone-pelting. The MEA also said India would “continue to engage with China to find a mutually-acceptable solution” to the Doklam issue.
