Srinagar: An activist of Jammu and Kashmir’s ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) was shot dead by suspected militants in southern Anantnag district on Saturday.
The police officials said that gunmen barged into the house of the victim Muhammad Ishaq Parray at Ugjan, Diyalgam of Anantnag and shot him from point blank range. He was rushed to Anantnag’s district hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
