Defending himself as “communal” for fighting for the citizenship of Hindu refugees, West Bengal BJP president and Midnapore MP Dilip Ghosh on Sunday predicted that the saffron party would come to power in the state with 200 seats in the 2021 Assembly Elections.

He also declared that the Trinamul Congress, in power with over 211 MLAs for the second consecutive term, would not get even 50 seats then.

Mr Ghosh argued that a major portion of the Trinamul votebank bel-onged to “infiltrators” who would be thrown out soon of the state.

“Didi has got 2.47 crore votes in the last Lok Sabha elections. The figure includes votes of 50 lakh infiltrators. That is why she has been on the road for the last one month. Why? She is worried about the votes,” he told a rally in support
of the Citizenship Amendment Act at Barasat in North 24 Parganas.

Mr Ghosh said, “We have also got 2.30 crore votes. The refugees vote-d for us because we pro-mised them citizenship. Now calculate, what

Didi will have if 50 lakh vo-tes become a minus to her? The figure will slip below the two-crore mark.
