NDA slams Tejashwi Yadav for failing to vote
Tejashwi Yadav also faced criticism from the NDA camp for calling the exit poll a trick by RSS and asking party supporters to reject it.
Patna: While the opposition is making all efforts to stitch a post-poll alliance with like-minded secular parties RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is facing the heat for not casting his vote during the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections.
On Monday BJP state president Nityanand Rai in a statement slammed Tejashwi Yadav for not turning up at the polling booth to cast his vote. Mr Rai said that “Tejashwi Yadav during his campaign claimed that he was on a mission to save constitution and democracy but on the election day he didn’t turn up at the polling station to vote. This is nothing but an insult to democracy”.
Though there has been no official clarification from the RJD regarding the allegation, sources said that Tejashwi Yadav couldn’t vote due to a photograph and age mismatch in the electoral roll at the Patna Veterinary College where the polling booth was set up.
Taking a dig at Tejashwi Yadav for not casting his vote Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi in a tweet said that “So-called responsible leaders are so irresponsible that they don’t check their correct entries in the voter list before polling. EC had given enough time to correct names in the voter list. But who cares?”
Tejashwi Yadav also faced criticism from the NDA camp for calling the exit poll “a trick by RSS” and asking party supporters to reject it. A day after an exit poll showed a landslide victory for the NDA Tejashwi Yadav in a tweet said, “The market’s compulsions are sold in the name of exit polls. It’s their old habit to use RSS backed institutions to play mind games with people. I ask you to reject it and keep a close watch on the strong room and make sure that those people who play dirty games don’t succeed”.
Reacting sharply on Tejashwi’s statement BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand said, “Tejashwi Yadav who has not utilized his voting right because there is no PM candidate from his family is now questioning the exit poll.”
