Raj drops plan to allot land for yoga centre
According to sources, the agreement between the Govind Devji Trust and the Patanjali Trust has been cancelled.
Jaipur: Unable to find a way to convert “mandir maafi” land for commercial purpose, the Raje governm-ent has finally dropped the idea of allotting the land for Baba Ramdev’s proposed yoga centre and food park. The government will now look for a different land to allot to the yoga guru for his proposed investment of Rs 500 crore.
As reported earlier, government officials, who were reluctant to get embroiled into any controversy in the election year, are said to have put their foot down on converting mandir mafi land for any other purpose. Now, the temple land would not be used for commercial or any the use. As per rules, the Patanjali trust cannot carry out construction on the mandir mafi land.
Another problem was that contrary to 435 bigha land mentioned in the agreement between Patanjali and temple trust, only 389 bigha land was available. The rest was encroached upon or mired in legal problems.
