MHA to soon send advisory to states
The apex court had on Tuesday set aside triple talaq by a majority verdict describing the practice of as unconstitutional.
New Delhi: In wake of the Supreme Court order on triple talaq, the home ministry will soon send out an advisory to all states to ensure that the court directive is properly implemented. The ministry will also ask the states to ensure to keep a close watch on the law and order situation and take all the necessary preventive action.
“We will soon issue an advisory to all states to closely monitor the situation and take all appropriate action. The states will also be directed to ensure ensure compliance of the Supreme Court order,’’ a ministry official said.
The home ministry too will co-ordinate closely with the states for maintaining law and order situation so that there is no adverse fallout of the Supreme Court verdict. “There should no be violence as a result of the court directive and all States would be sensitised for the same. The ministry too would be closely tracking the situation in states and our officers will be in constant touch with their counterparts in the states,’’ the official added.
