Digvijay Singh's brother stages sit-in protest
Sources said Digvijay Singh was not present at his residence when his younger brother visited.
Bhopal: A ‘family drama’ played out outside official residence of veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Digvijay Singh on Tuesday when his younger brother and sitting MLA of his party, Laxman Singh, staged a sit-in protest seeking appointment with him.
The MLA from Chachouda in Madhya Pradesh was demanding his elder brother’s commitment to visit his constituency along with chief minister Kamal Nath to declare Chachouda tehsil a new district.
“The chief minister promised me to make Chachouda the 53rd district of MP when I met him along with some Congress workers recently. Hence, I wanted that my elder brother, who had represented Chachouda in the assembly once, should visit my constituency along with the chief minister to declare Chachouda a new district. However, I was forced to stage demonstration outside my brother’s residence as I could not meet him. All I want is an appointment with him to finalise his date of visit to my constituency for the purpose,” the Chachouda legislator said.
He had a couple of days ago circulated a video appealing his supporters to gather at the residence of his elder brother on Tuesday to seek a commitment from him to visit his constituency along with the chief minister.

However, it was yet to be ascertained if ther senior Congress leader was aware of his younger brother’s plan to visit him on Tuesday.
Senior BJP leader and former minister Narottam Mishra took a potshot at Digvijay Singh for playing hide and seek with his younger brother by not giving him the appointment.
“It appears strange that the elder brother was unwilling to meet his younger brother,” he quipped.
