Congress sidelines anyone who speaks truth: Modi
Says his guarantee outweighs all false promises' by Congress
New Delhi/Jaipur: Asserting that “Modi’s guarantee” outweighs all "false promises" made by the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday claimed that the entire state of Rajasthan is saying, “Gehlot ji, koni mile vote ji!” (chief minister Ashok Gehlot, you are not getting any vote). Attacking the Congress for “anti-people” and “anti-national decisions” at two poll rallies in Rajasthan, Mr Modi said anyone who speaks truth in the party is shunted out.
Addressing a public meeting in Kotri of Bhilwara district, Mr Modi accused the Congress of punishing its leader Sachin Pilot after meting out the harsh treatment to his late father Rajesh Pilot. He said: “Whoever said or spoke anything in front of the Congress family...is as good as finished…Rajesh Pilot ji had once challenged this Congress family for good, but this family is such that after punishing Rajesh ji, they are bent upon punishing his son also," Mr Modi said while addressing a rally in Kotri.
The PM apparently suggested that the late Congress leader lost favour with the Congress leadership after contesting against Sitaram Kesri for the party president's post in 1997.
The former deputy chief minister has been involved in a power tussle with chief minister Ashok Gehlot and the Prime Minister has been referring to it in his poll campaigns in Rajasthan.
The Prime Minister also charged that the Congress makes anti-people and anti-national decisions.
“Congress policy is to be soft on terrorists, rioters and criminals. Blatant corruption is the policy of the Congress. Such policies of the Congress have made Rajasthan a safe haven for crimes and criminals," he said, adding that the pride of Rajasthan is the pride of the entire country, but under the Congress rule, the culture of Rajasthan is also under great threat.
“The path taken by the Congress for appeasement will lead Rajasthan towards destruction. The Congress has given free rein to fanatic people here," he charged.
“The people of Bhilwara are well aware of how communal tension has continuously increased under the Congress government here. The Congress has given undue freedom to extremist elements here. If the Congress remains in power, there will be an increase in migration, and there will be more atrocities against women and the poor. Therefore, today, the time demands that the Congress be removed from the Rajasthan government,” asserted Mr Modi.
Launching an unsparing attack on Mr Gehlot, Mr Modi said that the Rajasthan chief minister does not have the right to stay in power even for a moment in the state.
“When ministers give clean chit to rapists in the Assembly, how can our mothers, sisters and daughters remain safe? The Congress has left no stone unturned in looting Rajasthan in the last five years," Mr Modi said.
The need of the hour is to remove the Congress government from Rajasthan forever. "Your one vote for the lotus can wipe out the Congress. The lotus button should be pressed and the Congress should be wiped out," Mr Modi told the gathering.
Earlier, addressing a rally in Sagwara, Mr Modi asserted that his guarantee outweighs all "false promises" made by the Congress and asked the people of Rajasthan to wipe out the Gehlot government to free the state from oppression and corruption.
"Modi's guarantee," he said, "begins from where the hope from the Congress for the welfare of the poor and the public ends."
"Wipe out the Congress and free Rajasthan from riots, crimes and corruption. The Congress departure is also necessary for quick implementation of the Centre's schemes," he said.
Alleging that the Congress government has "committed scams" in every government recruitment in Rajasthan, he said, "There is such a business between the Congress leaders and their close ones that their children became officers and your children are selectively thrown out."
In Bhilwara, Mr Modi also highlighted the water scarcity issues in the district while informing the gathering that the Centre had sent funds for various water-related projects, but the Congress misused the funds.
Expressing confidence of a BJP win in the ensuing Assembly polls, Mr Modi said the people of Rajasthan should note that the Gehlot government will not return to power in the state.
Rajasthan goes to the polls on November 25 and the results will be declared on December 3.
