Lt Gen Sandhu urges militants to surrender, says J&K's Operation All-Out successful
Operation All-Out was launched by the Indian Army earlier this year with an aim to normalize the situation in the valley.
Srinagar: General officer commanding 15 Corps Lieutenant General JS Sandhu on Sunday asserted that Operation All-Out, aimed at uprooting militants from the valley was a major success.
General Sandhu while addressing the media, here urged militants holed up in valley to come out and surrender.
"Our operation all-out is very successful. We have neutralized many leaders (terrorist/militants) in north and south Kashmir," he said.
Operation All-Out, also known as Operation Clean Up, was launched by the Indian Army earlier this year with an aim to normalize the situation in the valley.
"We have appealed to them to surrender. Recently, a militant surrendered to the army and the army handed him over to the police," General Sandhu said.
General Sandhu further said that army is leaving no stone unturned in restoring peace in the valley and making it the place it was.
"Kashmir was very famous for tourism and even today, it is very popular its natural beauty. But many national and international tourists are hesitant to visit this place because of fear in their mind," he said.
