BJD leader joins BJP, says he was neglected

Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader and former minister Dambarudhar Majhi on Tuesday joined BJP at a special programme in Nabarangpur.

According to sources, a special ‘Mishrana Parba’ was organised at the Saurasahi Kalyan Mandap where Nabarangpur BJP district president Govind Jain and former parliamentarian Parshuram Majhi welcomed him to the party.

Mr Majhi, a former minister of BJD joined the saffron party after alleging that he was neglected by BJD after losing the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

In a yet another embarrassment to the ruling BJD, a clash broke out between the supporters of BJD Khandapada MLA Anubhav Patnaik and BJD MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik during Jana Sampark Pada-yatra in Banamalipur Panchayat of Nayagarh on Monday evening.

As per reports, the brawl started after Soumya Ranjan’s supporters allegedly raised slogans against the Khandapada MLA.
