No question of tie-up with BJP: Sharad Pawar calls Ajit's tweet misleading
'Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable government in Maharashtra,' Ajit Pawar said.
Mumbai: Calling his nephew's statement 'misleading' Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said that its party unanimously supports the Shiv Sena and Congress.
In a Tweet, Sharad Pawar said NCP would not form an alliance with the BJP. He further added that Ajit Pawar created confusion among the people by saying that NCP will support the BJP.
There is no question of forming an alliance with @BJP4Maharashtra.

NCP has unanimously decided to ally with @ShivSena & @INCMaharashtra to form the government. Shri Ajit Pawar’s statement is false and misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people.
Sacked legislature leader of NCP and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar had earlier said he is in the NCP and asserted that his uncle and party chief Sharad Pawar continues to be 'our' leader.
"I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP and Sharad Pawar Saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people," tweeted Ajit Pawar.
"There is absolutely no need to worry, all is well. However, a little patience is required. Thank you very much for all your support," he further tweeted.
Pawar also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he will ensure a stable government in the state.
"Thank you Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, We will ensure a stable Government and will work hard for the welfare of the people of Maharashtra," Pawar tweeted while re-tweeting a congratulatory message by the Prime Minister.
He also thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Textile and Women and Child Development Smriti Irani and other BJP leaders who congratulated him for forming the government along with Devendra Fadnavis.
Ajit Pawar has also changed his Twitter bio to Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
After a prolonged uncertainty over the government formation that lasted for nearly a month, Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday early morning took oath for the second consecutive term as the state chief minister, while Ajit Pawar was sworn-in as his deputy chief minister.
The BJP won 105 seats in the 288-member assembly followed by Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44.
Earlier today, the top court had issued notices to the Maharashtra government, state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his deputy Ajit Pawar and the Centre, and asked for relevant documents and letters of support from MLAs by 10 am on November 25.
