Kashmiri booked for FB post on Pak's win
Police said extra vigilance was being maintained to ensure that other Kashmiri students were not affected by the incident.
Bhopal: A Kashmiri student, pursuing his post-graduation in Botany from a university in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has been booked for his Facebook post, hailing Pakistan’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy final against India on June 18.
Seh Mudasir, a resident of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, posted a comment on his Facebook account, saying, “I am a Kashmiri and I like Pakistan. Pakistan Zindabad.”
The minor student, studying in Jiwaji University in the district headquarters town of Gwalior, is currently visiting his home, according to police.
He was staying in a rented house in Gwalior.
“Mudasir’s Face-book post has sparked tension in the area. A case under Section 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) of IPC has been registered against him. He will be arrested when he comes to collect his degree. If he does not return, a team of policemen will visit his home to arrest him,” city superintendent of police Shailendra Jadon told mediapersons.
Investigation by police has revealed that Mudasir had earlier liked posts hailing slain “terrorist” Burhan Wani and also shared posts related to Hizb-ul- Mujahideen on Facebook.
Scores of Kashmiri students are studying in different colleges and universities in Gwalior.
Police said extra vigilance was being maintained to ensure that other Kashmiri students were not affected by the incident.
