MP: 2nd Kohinoor' attracts big bidders
Three-day-auction of the very high quality diamond, said to be as bright as the legendary Kohinoor.
Bhopal: A rare gem-quality diamond, billed as “second Kohinoor”, mined by a local farmer in his field in Madhya Pradesh’s Bundelakhand region recently, has attracted several big firms dealing with precious stones.
Three-day-auction of the “very high quality” diamond, said to be as bright as the legendary Kohinoor, began at the Panna district mining officer’s office on Tuesday.
Sources said the news of finding of the “rare” diamond has spread like wildfire in the national as well as international gem stone markets, leading to participation of big firms in the bidding for the uncut diamond, weighing 5.82 carat.
Experts claimed that the rare find can match the famed Kohinoor, currently in possession of the British royal family, in terms of brightness.
