Bhopal: A guest worker who was home quarantined after he returned from Delhi to his home in Munderi village of Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh has found to his shock that his wife deserted him and their three children during his ‘isolation period’.

The 50-year-old man lodged a complaint with the local police saying that his wife (46) left him when he was serving his quarantine in the first floor of his house on Monday night.

According to the police, the middle aged man, who worked as a construction worker in Delhi, returned to his village in a Shramik Special on May 19 and was home quarantined.

On Monday night, when he tried to venture out of his house, he found the house locked outside.

He then somehow managed to come outside and sounded an alert to his wife on the ground floor of his house to come out.

However, the children responded his knock and informed him that their mother was not at home.

He then reported the matter to the local police on phone. Later, the police visited the spot and took complaint from him. Police filed a missing person case.

Police suspected that his wife may have eloped with her lover. Investigation into the incident was on, the investigating officer said.
