Deputy CM unsure about survival of Karnataka govt
On the issue of CM H.D. Kumaraswamy gearing up to present a new Budget amid reports of opposition.
Chitradurga: Dismissing all doomsday talk about the future of the Congress-Janata Dal(S) coalition government in the state, deputy chief minister G. Parameshwar insisted here on Tuesday that it would complete its five-year term. He, however, acknowledged almost in the same breath that no one could predict the future in politics.
The deputy chief minister, who was speaking to reporters in Chitrad-urga on his way to Koppal from Tumakuru, was responding to a question on former CM Siddaramaiah’s reported comments on the survival of the government.
Appearing visibly angry, he retorted, “I am telling you this in the capacity of KPCC president. Both the Congress and JD(S) have arrived at an understanding to run this government for five years and if you ask the same question over and over again my ans-wer will remain the same.” But then he add-ed ambiguously that no one could predict what could happen in politics.
On the issue of CM H.D. Kumaraswamy gearing up to present a new Budget amid reports of opposition, he said it was natural for a new government to present its own Budget.
