Dera Sacha case: ER trains cancelled due to mob violence
In a statement, the ER informed on Saturday that three trains scheduled to leave during the day were cancelled.
Kolkata: Several trains for Punjab and Haryana from Howrah, Sealdah and Kolkata stations have been cancelled by the Eastern Railway (ER) in wake of the violence in the two states, following the Godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted and declared guilty of rape. In a statement, the ER informed on Saturday that three trains scheduled to leave during the day were cancelled.
The cancelled trains included 13005 Up Howrah-Amritsar Mail, 12311 Up Howrah-Kalka Mail and 12331 Up Howrah-Jammu Tawi Himgiri Express. Four more trains which scheduled to leave on Sunday were cancelled. They are 13151 Up Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express, 13007 Up Howrah-Sriganganagar Udayan Abha Toofan Express, 13049 Up Howrah-Amritsar Express and 12317 Up Kolkata-Amritsar Akal Takht Express.
Meanwhile, two more trains have been rescheduled on Saturday. They are 12307 Up Howrah–Jodhpur Express, which has been rescheduled for departure at 2 am on Sunday instead of at 11.40 pm on Saturday and 12987 Up Sealdah-Ajmer Express which has been rescheduled to leave Sealdah station at 5.30 am on Sunday instead of 11.05 pm on Saturday night. After the violence broke out on Friday, three trains were short-terminated.
They were 13049 Up Howrah-Amritsar Express, which started its journey from Howrah on Friday and was short-terminated at Asansol, 13005 Up Howrah-Amritsar Mail, which started from Howrah on Friday (25.8.2017) and was short-terminated at Patna and 12311 Up Howrah-Kalka Mail which left Howrah on Friday.
