Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a unique war these days and the opposition has nothing to do with it as it is between the bureaucracy and the elected representatives of the BJP. The anger of the BJP MPs and MLAs with the civil and police officials is coming to the fore, leading to ugly scenes in full public view.

On Wednesday, BJP MLA form Tiloi, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh announced that he was ready to put in his papers because a state minister (Suresh Pasi) was interfering in his constituency and as a result, the officials were not paying him due attention. As soon as the result of the MLA preparing to quit took rounds, chief minister Yogi Adityanath called Mr Singh. The MLA said “The chief minister has promised action and I will wait for a week. If nothing happens, I will hold a rally in my constituency and then decide what it to be done.” Two days ago, BJP MP Priyanka Rawat wrote a letter to the chief minister accusing the district magistrate of Barabanki of corruption. Even before the letter could reach Mr Yogi, she released it to the media.

A month ago, it was UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar who had unfurled the banner of revolt against the district magistrate of Ghazipur and had even threatened to resign if the official was not transferred. A fortnight ago, Sarita Bhadauria, BJP MLA from Etawah, stormed into a police station with her supporters and misbehaved with the cops for not registering a complaint.
