43-year-old Jet Airways employee, suffering from cancer, commits suicide

Police have sent the dead body for the post-mortem examination and further investigation in the incident is on.

Palghar: A 43-year-old Jet Airways employee who was suffering from cancer allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the roof of his apartment here on Saturday.

The deceased, identified as Shailesh Kumar Singh, had been with Jet Airways for 20 years. Suffering from cancer for the last three years, he had been on leave without pay for some months.

The deceased was living with his family in his Nalasopara East apartment.

The residents of the area had called police and fire brigade officials when Singh climbed up to the roof of his apartment and tried jumping from there. But before police could find a way to rescue him, he jumped off the roof.

Police have sent the dead body for the post-mortem examination and further investigation in the incident is on.

Jet Airways has been going through an extreme financial crisis. On April 17, the airlines suspended all its operations in view of the financial crisis.
