Bhopal: Opposition Congress on Wednesday convened dummy session of Madhya Pradesh assembly to debate its no-trust motion which could not be taken up in the just concluded monsoon session of the house due to its abrupt adjournment.

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Ajey Singh told reporters here that the dummy session would run for three days during which the no-trust motion moved in the outgoing monsoon session of the house by his party against the Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan government would be discussed.

Congress MLAs participated in the dummy session sporting black bands around their hands to protest the premature adjournment of the monsoon session of the house by the speaker without taking up the party’s no-trust motion for discussion.

The state government wanted adjournment of the house for fear of facing the no-trust motion moved by us, the CLP leader said.

State home minister Bhupendra Singh however blamed the Congress for abrupt adjournment of the house saying that the Opposition party did not allow running the assembly.

Besides, the charges made in the no-trust motion by the Opposition party were baseless and they were discussed many times in the house earlier.

Congress leader Mukesh Nayak alleged multi-crore e-tender scam in the state government in which a particular builder was benefitted.
