Follow HC guidelines on judicial officers: Supreme Court
The Union of India shall thereafter examine the various suggestions,
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday directed Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to take steps for the purpose of allotment of judicial officers to the different cadres on the basis of the draft guidelines issued by the Hyderabad high court for AP and Telangana, till the Government of India comes out with new guidelines.
A Bench of Justices J. Chelameswar and Abdul Nazeer gave this direction on a petition filed by Telangana Judges Association seeking intervention of the apex court for allotment of judicial officers who were in service of the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
The Bench asked both the states and any one of the judicial officers, who is not a member of the petitioner association either individually or in their representative capacity may make suggestions within a period of four weeks from today (April 28) to the Government of India.
It said on recept of the representations, the Union of India shall thereafter examine the various suggestions and prepare the draft guidelines in consultation with the existing high court on or before the 17th of June, 2017 and place the draft guidelines before this Court on the next date of hearing for appropriate further orders.
