Patna: Speculation is rife within the political circle that rift is brewing between RJD- Congress in Bihar over RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s recent comments against Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Tejashwi Yadav in a statement had earlier said that “doors of Grand Secular Alliance have been shut for Nitish Kumar”.

On Friday several Congress party leaders criticised Tejashwi Yadav for the statement and asked him to refrain from speaking on the issue without consulting other allies.

According to Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed, “such decisions can be taken only by senior leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav. Tejashwi Yadav cannot decide important issues like these”.

Tejashwi Yadav’s statement had come days after All India Congress Committee (AICC) Bihar in- charge Shaktisinh Gohil hinted that his party was ready for realignment with JD(U) if Nitish Kumar ditches the BJP.

The JD (U) has already clarified that the Congress has lost all its opportunity as Rahul Gandhi in 2017 did not intervene to seek resignation from Tejashwi Yadav and decided to stay with Lalu Yadav led RJD.
