New Delhi: The Supreme Court will soon get four new judges following the recommendation for the elevation of chief justices of Patna, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Tripura — justices M.R. Shah, R. Subash Reddy, Hemant Gupta and R. Ajay Rastogi respectively to be judges of the apex court.

The collegium comprising the chief justice Ranjan Gogoi and justices Madan Lokur, Kurian Joseph, A.K. Sikri and S.A. Bobde made the recommendation at its meeting on Monday.

Chief justice Shah, who hails from Gujarat was appointed an additional judge of the Gujarat high court in March 2004 and made permanent in 2005.
