Amar Singh finds new ally in Bollywood

Amar Singh, a Samajwadi Party member of the Rajya Sabha, was recently seen in the PM’s constituency, Varanasi, with Bollywood star Dimple Kapadia and his old friend Jaya Prada. Photographs were published in many newspapers. When he arrived at the Rajya Sabha, many MPs were asking him about his experience in Varanasi. He started talking about how Amitabh Bachchan, the brand ambassador for the PM’s Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan, had failed to impress people in the PM’s constituency. That Mr Singh and Mr Bachchan do not get along these days is well-known to everybody. But what is intriguing is Mr Singh’s association with Dimple Kapadia. Whether he will promote her in the coming UP Assembly election is a matter of conjecture. But Mr Singh and Mr Bachchan’s wife, Jaya Bachchan, are in the same party.
