When family members and officials of National Hydro-Power Corporation (NHPC) are running from pillar to post to secure the release of abducted general manager Anil Kumar Agarwal, the rampaging NDFB rebels abducted another businessman Ramgopal Agarwal from a tea garden of Sonitpur district on Saturday. The police said that four motorcycle-borne armed rebels kidnapped Ramgopal Agarwal from his shop at Boroi tea estate on Friday night. The militants, who were armed, took Mr Agarwal on a motorcycle towards Arunachal Pradesh. The residents of the area informed the police which chased the militants, who managed to escape, leaving one of the motorcycles on which they came. The police also opened fire on assailants but they succeeded in crossing over the state border. It is significant that the NDFB had kidnapped the NHPC general manager from Hatigate area in Sonitpur district on September 22.
