Lucknow: Eleven people from one family were found killed in a house in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi district. The deceased include one man, two women and eight children.

A woman and a child were still alive when the police reached the house and have been taken to Lucknow in critical condition.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning in Mahona Paschim village under bazaar Shukul police station area when some local villagers saw blood flowing out of a drain from the house and informed the police.

According to Amethi SP Santosh Kumar, it appears that a family dispute was the reason behind the crime.

“Jamaluddin, 45, was found hanging in the house while the throats of all the rest had been slit open. It seems that Jamaluddin first killed all the ten women and children and then hanged himself. Since the bodies had turned blue, it is suspected that Jamaluddin may have poisoned the family before slitting their throats,” the SP told reporters.

The deceased have been identified as Tabassum, 35, Husaina, 30, and children namely Rubina, Shaheen, Shamsuddin, Mariam, Sania, Ujra Bano, Aafreen, Mehak and Fatima.

All the bodies have been sent for post mortem and relatives and neighbours are being questioned about possible motive behind the mass murders.
