Lucknow: Twelve days after the case of sexual molestation inside BHU, another instance of a female being beaten up on the campus was reported on Thursday.

A female student of the social science faculty was allegedly beaten up by a male student of the public administration department.

The accused, who has now been arrested, pulled the victim’s hair when she protested at some lewd comments made at her. The accused also broke her mobile phone. The victim reported the incident to the proctorial board and then went to the Lanka police station with her parents and a member of the proctorial board where she lodged her complaint.

Chief proctor Royana Singh said that appropriate action would be taken against the accused student. Meanwhile, Rekha Sharma, chairperson National Commission for Women, reached the university on Thursday to investigate the incidents of September 21 when a girl student was molested which later led to violence on the campus.
