Rajasthan man kills his daughter

Jaipur: A superstitious father allegedly killed his daughter in Peepar City in Rajasthan. The reason for the killing is even more shocking, because according to the police, the man in his confession said, that he had sacrificed his daughter to please Allah in the holy month of Ramzan.

The Jodhpur Rural police on Saturday claimed to resolve the sensational murder that took place on Thursday midnight. “The accused claimed in his confession that he was under an evil spell that asked him to sacrifice his most loved thing to Allah in the holy month of Ramzan, following which, he slit the throat of four-year-old Rizwana to make Allah happy,” said Setha Ram Banjara, circle officer, Bilara.   

The police had suspected that the victim could have known the killer. “The gate was locked from inside and there was no sign of break in, therefore, it was unlikely for outsider to commit the crime,” the officer said. FSL experts and dog squad to trace sign of an intruder but when nothing came up; the police interrogated the girl’s parents and her uncle’s family. After a while, Nawab Ali confessed his crime.

Nawab Ali Qureshi, his wife and daughter Rizwana (4) lived with their maternal uncle in Silawato ka Mohalla in Peepar City in Jodhpur district. While Nawab Ali resided on the upper floor of the house, the other family lived downstairs.

Nawab Ali was sleeping with his wife and daughter Rizwana on the roof. Rizwana’s mother found her lying in a poll of blood in the wee hours of Friday. “In her statement, Nawab Ali’s wife said that she got up around 2:30 am. She said that the girl was not around when she work up so she called her out by her name repeatedly but didn’t get any response,” the police said.

She went downstairs to look for Rizwana where she found the little one lying dead in a bloody condition on the bed.
