Girl tries to end life over CBSE exam results

The CBSE had received the high court order to re-evaluate the answer sheets of 18 students and publish results by June 10.

Bhubaneswar: With reduction in marks of some students after re-evaluation of their CBSE Class 12 exam answer sheets, a girl student on Monday tried to commit suicide here in the city.

According to reports, the girl tried to take the extreme step by consuming excess medicine.

She was admitted to a private hospital here, reports added.

On Sunday night, the CBSE had emailed re-evaluated marks to the 18 students who had moved the Odisha high court seeking re-evaluation of their answer sheets.

While marks of some students were found to have dropped as compared to their previous scores, some of them ha-ve secured more marks, reports said, adding that marks of some students remained the same.

The CBSE had received the high court order to re-evaluate the answer sheets of 18 students and publish results by June 10.

The board had submitted the results sheets in the court on Saturday.
