Bhopal: An official probe has led to the disclosure that two minor boys had set on fire a coach of Sushan Express at Gwalior railway station on August 4, this year, to take selfies in the “charred compartment” and get likes on social media.

The railway police force (RPF) which conducted the probe had identified the two accused as students of Class 10 of a local school in district headquarters town of Gwalior, RPF sources told this newspaper on Wednesday.

“We have identified the two accused from the footage of the CCTV installed in the railway station. The students have been arrested,” the RPF sources said.

“The youths confessed that they had set the compartment on fire to take a selfie in the burning coach to upload it on social media and get likes from their friends. They said they did it for fun,” the sources added.

The two minors had been involved in such bizarre cases, earlier. They had taken videos of such incidents and posted them on social media, the investigating officer said. The two of them have been sent to the home of juvenile delinquents, he added.
