HAL contractors' residences raided

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of In-vestigation (CBI) on Thu-rsday conducted raids on the residences of two contractors, who were arrested earlier in connection with financial irregularities of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

As per the available information, a five-member team of the CBI raided the houses of G. Sudan Khusla and Sadananda Nayak, accused of committing a financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 1 crore. Sources said the CBI has registered complaints against seven employees of the HAL.

The three arrested contractors had received Rs 5 crore from HAL between January and August, 2018, sources added. On October 13, the Sunabeda police had arre-sted three contractors on the charges of fraudulently transferring Rs 45 la-kh to their bank accounts.

The main accused, Bha-ben Maitra, a senior Man-ager (Finance) of HAL, is still absconding. who had fled after burning official documents and currency notes on last Sunday.
