Minor girl gangraped by UP cop, his friend

Lucknow: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped in Police Lines by a policeman and his friend in Farukkhabad district. The matter was reported on Monday after which SP, Farukkhabad Dayanand Misra got an FIR registered against both the accused at Fatehgarh Kotwali police station. The girl has been sent for medical examination.

According to reports, the victim was going to her maternal uncle’s house from Shahjahanpur on a bus on Saturday when the accused, Upendra, who was known to her, asked her to come down from the bus and offered to drop her home in his car.

With the help of his friend Ajay Kumar, a driver of Dial -100 police patrolling van, Upendra took the girl to the Police Lines in Farukkhabad and raped her. Later, the girl fled from the clutches of the accused and reached the police station. The family members of the girl had also registered a kidnapping case in Shahjahanpur. Both the accused are absconding and the police has launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
